How do you view your community?  What do you like about Mackinaw?  What do you think can be improved?  In cooperation with the Village of Mackinaw, we would like to remind ALL of our familes to be sure to complete the Mackinaw Comprehensive Plan Survey by clicking on the link in the LOWER LEFT CORNER of the Mackinaw Village Website here:  http://www.mackinawillinois.org/ .   This survey will provide valueable information to those individuals that are currently updating the comprehensive plan, which will guide the planning for the Village and surrounding areas into the future.   Input to the comprehensive plan helps pave the way for our community and our young boys as they become the future leaders of Mackinaw!

Sunday, April 22 is FREE SCOUT Day at Wildlife Prairie State Park!   Although we won't be organizing this as a pack activity, all Scouts and their families are welcome to go and enjoy the festivities.  Here's a link to the WPSP information:  http://www.wildlifeprairiestatepark.org/visit-todo-events.cfm?ID=306&getdetails=yes 

Our annual Pack 86 community service project is coming up soon!  This spring we invite all Cub Scouts and their families to help our community by participating in the Brock Lake Spring Clean-up service project.  This has  become an annual project as a way for Scouts to be active in our community and to help preserve and improve our environment. An added benefit of this project is it will also provide our Scouts with a pack conservation project to satisfy one of the requirements for earning the World Conservation Award.  All the requirements to earn this award are listed in the back of your Scout’s handbook.  Although this award is not available to Tiger Scouts, we still encourage their involvement.  Hope to see you there!

As with most of our events, we always look for your constructive feedback.   This helps the pack in two ways:  We're able to improve the event for next year, and we're able to pass on information to future pack leaders to help them keep providing an excellent scouting program for your in the Deer Creek/Mackinaw area.  Please take a moment to send your feedback to:  LessonsLearned@mackinaw86.mypack.us  - we'll combine your feedback anonymously into a document for next years' committee.  Thank you!

CONGRATULATIONS SCOUTS!!!!!!!!!!

A HUGE thank you to all our Scouts, Scout families, and especially to our Blue & Gold Committee volunteers for making this year's banquet the huge success that it was!!!!  Also a Ginormous SHOUT-OUT to Doug Smith and the Unique Twist for his highly entertaining balloon fun!  It's the Scouts that make Scouting fun, our Leaders are just along for the ride.  And what a ride it is!  Thank You and Congratulations to all our Scouts once again.
